Hana Mendel is a Jewish-American artist based in New York City. She holds a BFA from Columbus College of Art & Design and a certificate in Publishing from Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. Influenced by the interplay of photography and artifact, her images reference diaspora and contemplating lineage with a touch of magical-realist sentimentality.
Her work, spanning from photo-illustration to documentary photography, has been featured in publications including The New Yorker, New York Magazine, Wall Street Journal, GQ, WIRED, PAPER Magazine, VICE, and Fast Company.
