Hana Mendel is a freelance photographer in Manhattan, NYC.
She earned her BFA in Photography at Columbus College of Art and Design and a diploma from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism in Publishing.
Interested in stories and and the visuals which accompany them, Mendel's work ranges between narrative photojournalism and conceptual photo-illustration. Influenced by her cultural roots in Cajun-French Louisiana and the Jewish villages of Eastern Europe, her images reflect the magical realism of their cultural folklore.
Mendel has been featured in several publications, including The New Yorker, New York Magazine, GQ, Wired, VICE, Fast Company, and the Wall Street Journal.
